IHK University Prize of Economy 2022: Award Winner Sebastian Heuft

Sebastian Heuft is currently studying Master Applied Physics at Koblenz University of Applied Sciences and has been working on his bachelor's thesis entitled "Experimental investigation of the effect of external feedback on degradation in high-power diode laser bars with a high fill factor" in cooperation with Laserline since June 2020. For this, he received qualitative mentoring from our group leader in the development department, Dr. Ulrich Witte. The results of his thesis are of enormous practical relevance and were therefore awarded the IHK University Prize. Sebastian will continue to support us as a student assistant as part of his Master's degree and we look forward to working with him to further develop our special technology. We are already excited to see what insights his Master's thesis will bring!

FAQ's

Have you found one or more suitable positions at Laserline? Then it's time to apply. We have summarized all the important information about a successful application for you here. If you have any further questions about careers, please do not hesitate to contact us.

What should I bring with me as a student?

If you would like to do an internship or working student job with us as a student, you should ideally also have a suitable technical or business degree from a university or university of applied sciences. It is also important to us that you demonstrate great commitment, team player qualities and enjoy the tasks involved. We require good A-levels and academic achievements as well as an interest in the subject. The duration of the internship is usually between three and six months. A student traineeship should be planned for a longer period. The weekly working hours can be set individually and range from 8 to max. 20 hours.

What application documents are required?

Your application documents should include a personal, job-related cover letter in which you introduce yourself and explain why you would like to work at Laserline. We also need a tabular CV in which you list your most important stations (school, training, studies, major fields of study, relevant internships, etc.) as well as all relevant certificates (school-leaving certificate, training, current university achievements, internships, etc.).

What are the application deadlines?

There are no application deadlines - as long as the position you have chosen is online on our careers page, you can apply at any time. It is important that you submit your application as early as possible before the start of your internship or thesis so that we have enough time to process it. Of course, we are also happy to receive unsolicited applications for an internship, an internship semester, a thesis or a job as a working student. We regularly have topics for students that are not advertised.

What can I expect at an interview?

The aim of our interview is to get to know you personally. We want to find out how well you fit in with us and how well we fit in with you. In other words, we want to get an impression of your knowledge, skills and personality. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to ask us any open questions and clarify any general conditions.

Do I receive remuneration for my work?

Of course, voluntary internships and student traineeships during the practical phase or final thesis are attractively remunerated. If you complete a mandatory internship with us, you will not receive any remuneration.

What advantages does a cooperative study program at Laserline offer me?

A cooperative study program offers you the opportunity to combine a fully-fledged course of study with extended practical phases in the company. You can directly apply the knowledge you have acquired during your studies, exchange ideas with experienced colleagues and apply and expand your knowledge in practice. This way, you will already know exactly what to expect in the professional world at the end of your studies. In addition, your work with us will be remunerated so that you are also financially secure during your studies.
